and standing in The Space that opening night, looking at my surroundings, i saw the culmination of 3 years of hard waiting, 2 years of sacrifices, made by not just me but the rest too. i felt the pride at our achievement, after so much was put in, so that little singapore could step up and hold such an event. that our fledging lasallian youth movement has finally taken root. and it made the sacrifices so much more worthwhile.

it was really amazing, that within one week, how close we grew to each other. for certain, we knew in the back of our minds that after one week, we would go our separate ways, but that did not stop us from building strong bonds and for some, strong emotional attachment. it made every leaving a tearful event, as people left the fantasy of aplyc to return to their own realities.

and now, as i plan on flying off to hk to spend time with her, i wonder at the power of our mission, in its ability to create family out of a group of people so diverse. simply amazing.
